U.S. Only Targets SOME Extremists

Why does the U.S. government only call out, respond to and take offense at the anti-American ravings of non-Christian religious extremists? The U.S. Central Command's website, www.centcom.mil, has a headline reading "What Extremists Are Saying," that links to an article entitled, "Al-Zarqawi Group Congratulates Bin Ladin, Muslims on US Hurricane, Losses." (A poster on our blog at The Rachel Maddow Show pointed this one out).

The unnamed author of the article writes, "This latest press release congratulates the nation of Islam for the success of Hurricane Katrina as proof of Allah’s wrath upon the Unbelievers" and then goes on to include a translation of a statement apparently emanating from loyalists of Abu Musab al-Zarqawi.

My question to U.S. Central Command, and to the U.S. civilian officials who oversee it, is why isn't similar attention being called to the greater volume of Christian applause for Katrina emanating not from around the world, but from on domestic soil?

Just yesterday I revealed that Rick Scarborough, one of the architects of the war on America's judicial branch, and a top ally of several GOP senators, will be posting in his next online dispatch his claim that Katrina, and the death and destruction it brought, were his god's tool for avenging what Scarborough hates about America.

Specifically, Scarborough says that god was targeting:

"...a nation moving a [sic] breakneck speed toward homosexual marriage, a nation awash in pornography, a nation in which our children are indoctrinated in perversion in the public schools, a nation in which most public displays of The Ten Commandments are considered offensive to the Constitution, a nation in which the elite does all in its considerable power to efface our Biblical heritage..."
He continues:

"We are sowing the wind. Surely, we shall reap the whirlwind. One other factor which must be considered: Days before Katrina nearly wiped New Orleans off the map, 9,000 Jewish residents of Gaza were driven from their homes with the full support of the United States government. Could this be a playing out of prophesy ("I will bless that nation that blesses you, and curse the nation that curses you")?...we are bringing disaster on ourselves."
That is what extremists are saying here, on American soil, about the country they live in, profit from, and hate. When will the U.S. government finally hear what THESE extremists say, and wake up to the venomous threat they pose?

Remember that Gen. Boykin has never been court martialed or demoted. The Tyrant, his lackeys, Gen. Meyers and Stephane Cambone, had him assigned to the Cambone's Office of Special Plans.

I think Boykin may have had a hand in only showing Muslim extremists pronouncements rather than the internal threat posed by Christian extremists and militia/racists here, including Pat Robertson and such groups as Aryan Nations and Hammerskins.

Scarborough has got nothing on Michael Savage. Savage has been calling for a genocidal response to 9/11 and the Great Iraq War for over a year now. While the majority of us take none of these loons seriously the bell curve of intelligence predicts that there will always be someone that listens and probably will act on the opinions of these right-wing attack dogs.

Give me a break. If gay marriage was an indicator of the coming of god's wrath, why didn't Canada get met with a plague of locusts?

Even if I did believe in god, I certainly wouldn't believe that he/she/it micromanaged for the purposes of hate and spite.

For those that believe God is responsible for Katrina, the only reasonable conclusion is that he is angry with Bush and his supporters; otherwise why didn't this happen on Clinton's watch?

The scary thing to me is this, the muslim extremeist are still waiting for there massia. some of the christian extremeist are just waiting for judgement day. they arent concerned with the environment or any long term problems because they dont believe that there is a long term, the world is about to end. you get any large enough group of people and your going to get a few that are insane. i just cant figure out why when they find the crazy ones they turn around and give them a TV show(robertson). so it goes. so when do we put bush on trial? pick an offence it doesnt matter theres lots of em.
